Aluminum
Solution / Quench / Age
Wabash utilizes gas-fired continuous and drop bottom batch furnaces in its
production operation, allowing us flexibility to process a wide variety of
aluminum alloys. We also have at our disposal an electric mini-drop bottom
furnace for research and development activity and for short-run production.
Solution
Only
In the event the customer needs to "work" the
piece in a post-heat treating operation, Alfe
can perform only the solution portion of the
heat
treat process, allowing the part to be shaped, formed, straightened.
Age
Only
Age-only requirements are serviced in our batch-style age ovens.
Gauging/Straightening
Alfe has skilled personnel who can straighten parts to a predetermined specification
or to a customer-supplied fixture.

Hardness
Testing
A predetermined quantity of the customer's product is tested out of each heat
treat batch. Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing is available.
Mechanical
Testing
Alfe performs mechanical testing of pre-cast bars and has the capability to
cut, turn and pull a specimen from the customer's casting. Tensile, yield and
elongation numbers are typically available via such testing.
Complete
Certification Documentation
Alfe certifies every batch of product processed, recording heat treat process
parameters as well as hardness readings, if applicable. Various standard format
certifications are available to our customers.
Transportation
Wabash utilizes a fleet of four tractor-trailers to transport between our facility
and our customers' plants. In addition to transporting product within our
effective selling region, Alfe also facilitates drop forward shipping to
non-customer locations. |
